Si Rims....
Heu guys, I just bought some si stocks off my friend I just finished putting them on my car so when I went to test them to see how my car rides. Driving straight, the steering wheel trembles moving fast left and right... the 2 front tires are very worn out, and the threads are hanging out a lot.... could that be why the shaking is happening? Or do I need a wheel alignment? Thank You.

yup!!!! also, you may have needed to tightin your lugz again.... when you put new rims on, put them on, then drive around the block 1 or 2 times then tighten those lugz again!....
But yea nu mounting and balancing is needed prob... get new tires mang.

I can think of several things.
1) tighten wheels to spec 80ft/lbs, if you don't have a torque wrench, buy one.
2) balancing could be a problem, but I dont' think it is in this case.
3) Belts could be worn out on your tires. I think this is your problem.
4) you may have a bent rim.

185/65 is the stock EX tire size. 185/55 is smaller than stock, throwing the speedometer off slightly.
Also, it sounds like the tires are worn out. If the tires are that worn out, there are many reasons why you shouldn't be driving on them, bad belts (vibration) being one of them.

put it to ya this way, if it was an alignment problem, it woulda happended before you put these wheels on.
the shimmying youre experiencing is either probably from abnormal wear. if by threads you mean the cords inside the rubber of the tire, then you NEED to get new tires. besides you want a bigger tire, this is the prefect excuse to get some

torque wrench? what do you need a torque wrench for? i use this cross bar lookin thing and it works fine. ive rotated the tires on my eclipse when i had it and on my civic when it was due.... ive had no problems with it. the cross bar thingy was only a few bucks too. unless theres a better reason to buy a torque wrench... i wouldnt.
as a matter of fact.. my friend got wheels from this place and they used a torque wrench to put on the lug nuts. when he went back to get his bags done, the same torque wrench used to tighten the lug nuts, broke the wheel locks upon removal. ended up scratching the rim too. he was pissed.

damn... u don't know what a torque wrench does. I'm not even going to bother to explain. Please use that 5 dollar cross bar thing, LOL. Do some research, and you'll find out that its a really important tool. Torque wrenches are precise tools and should never be used to remove lug nuts. They should only be used to put on lug nuts. Plus they can be used for other applications, and not just lug nuts.
The steering wheel shake you are experiencing is most definitely a shifted or broken belt....especially if you're seeing the cording. I would replace them A.S.A.P. or you might have a blowout.
As for up sizing, 185/65/15 is stock (just as VTEC01EX said), but if you're looking for a bit more I would go to 195/60/15....they work out to be almost exactly the same o'all diameter and are currently shipping as stock for the '04 EX.
You can also check out the tire calculator link on this site if you need to do some more research.
