I wish I had money for wheels/tires. .
I would say 215/40/17, unless your local roads suck. If they are really messed up roads, really bumpy, I would go 215/45/17 for a little more rubber between you and those bumps.

yeh i live in winnipeg manitoba and after the winter the roads are the *****, tons of potholes.
I just dont want to get the wrong size and then my car doesnt look like it has been dropped.

go with 45/17.... its always good to have some extra meat on the tire. i have 205/40/17 and the rim sticks out a little so it i touch the curb my rim gets scracthed. with 45/17 tires you dont have to worry about that i think

I have the same springs and 205/40/17 tires on 40mm offset wheels. I've never scraped or rubbed yet. 205's are pretty safe with most wheels. I wanted 215/45/17 tires for comfort and wheel protection, but was afraid that they'd rub. A 215/40 isnt much taller(only 4mm) but is more expensive and 10mm wider(5mm each side). If you have a wheel with a good offset(42mm or more I'd guess) then you might be able to get away with no rubbing. You could probably get away with 205/45/17's, though the price goes up alot over 205's.
