Wheel Diameter Question

Ok here is the deal... I am planning on getting some 18" ADR - Spade rims...
I was wondering what size wheel i need to get close to the stock wheel diameter
if this is possible.
I am also wondering if the 18" size rim will rub at all...
Can someone also explain what the XXX/XX/XX stands for what each section means.
These rims come in 17" too but I prefer 18" cause i think they look better...
I also plan on lowering my car in the near future.

Either www.tirerack.com or www.tires.com will give the option of putting in your car info and will automatically translate into what you are looking for (so that your speedometer doesn't read like 55mph when you're traveling 35mph).

As far what the 245/55 R16 means, it's *** follows.

The first 3 XXX = tire width in mms. So a 195 is 195mm. 315 is 315 mms, etc.

The 2nd number "195/XX" is the profile ratio from width to sidewall thickness. So, if it's a 205/75 (75% of the tire width), it's like a thick-assed truck tire. a 205/35 (35% of 205mms) is a low-profile tire).

The 3rd number RXX is the wheel diameter.

I'm guessing that you'll be looking for is one of the folowing tire sizes:

1) 215/40 R 18
2) 215/35 R 18

215mms with either a 35% or 40% profile on an 18" wheel.
