tuner lug nuts?

tuner lug nuts?

on an ebay item i'm considering buying (rims) it says the tuner lug nuts are not included but are required...why can't i use stock lug nuts?

1. Tuner lugnuts have thin shanks so you can get a key over them or in them to get them on and off. The wheels are designed so the lugnuts fit tightly into the countersinks drilled for them, rather than providing a lot of room around them to get a regular nut and socket on to.
2. Stock lugnuts have a ball nose. Almost all aftermarket wheels have conical tapers... which means you need to use a cone-ended lugnut. Using a ball lugnut in a conical hole WILL ruin the wheel.

I think that should suffice as reason enough.

hmm...definitely DONT want to risk screwing up my (or will be my)expensive rims...do i have to get wheel specific tuner lug nuts or any type?

what is the key for? protection?...ppl steal rims....
