205/50/16 versus 205/55/16

I wanna get more tire than what I got now (50's) but I don't want to mess with the gear shift ratio... anybody have any advice? are 55s a good idea?

have you played with the tire calculator yet? its' in the menu bar on the left side of every page. anywayz,,.. what's wrong with the 50s? that's a lot of tire already IMO. maybe you should try 215s?

On 16's im not sure, but on my 15's I run 205/50-15's which has about a 5%smaller diamiter then the Stock ones that came with my EX.

great for racing but no so good for the street.

I had 205-55s on my 15s with the Saturn. The tire was a good width with a tad overhang for curb protection. I would go with 205-50 or 215-50 even, a 50 series will be a nice sharp lookin profile.

check out my ride. i've got 205/55/16. i went with that size for two reasons: 1.) easier to find/cheaper compared for 205/50/16. 2.) 1/4" taller overall than stock therefore a little less wheel gap--good for me since i'm not lowering my car.
