40 or 45 series tires?
I'm looking at some Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 711's and 712's and am wondering if I should get the 40 or 45 series tires. Please post here with any pro's/con's of both. I know 45 have a little better quality but I'm really more interested ni handling capabilities with as little sidewall flex as possible.

On my 215/45/17, I scrubbed. I am also not the only member to have this happen.
If you are not lowered- get 215/45/17, but if your lowered, get 205/40/17. The 205/40's also look a lot nicer.

if u have a drop 215/45/17 will rubb in the back IF you decide to correct the camber. mine doesnt rub but my camber is were the wheels lean inward a bit.
i have a progress spring drop, its pretty damn low. wenever my tires were out or wen i decide to get a new set of rims i will be going with 205/40/17

Yeah, I was tucking in the back with my 215/45/17 before my camber correction. Once camber came into play I had to change out to stocks till I went and bought 205/40 (which i did the next day even though i had no money, lol gotta love credit).
Try using the tire calculator to determain the speedo error. I think my friend has the 711 supras on his ride. They are a nice tire. Good grip and ride. Are you asking straight line or corners?
