Re-calibrating the speedometer

Ok... I know this has been talked about before, but has anyone actually done it or inquired to the dealer about it?
In case you need a refresher.... I'm talking about getting the computer reset so you can use a different diameter tire and have the speedometer read dead on. Basically like 205/50/15 or something so you can use 16s without being 2% off or have to use 225/50/16 to keep the speedometer happy.
I know its a minor stupid thing, but when a friend of mine told me it only cost him $35 to have the dealer reset his Grand Am (he traded 14" stockies for 15" stockies and the diameter changed 7%)... it almost seems worth it to get it done and keep the odometer accurate.

One of the companies that manufactures those plug in ECU reprogrammers has one that will recallibrate and correct speedometer settings, I am not sure which one it is.

I saw them do it on HorsepowerTV on TNN but the tool they used was for domestics. I can't remember the name of that either

boilermaker,

I really doubt that a Honda dealership would have anything like this. Besides that i dont think you would even need it. I have upsized 4 inches from stock and my speedometer is accurate, i know because i paced an older model cadillac with the large green digital read out, for about a half mile and i both speedometers were the same.

In addition to, huge power gains, bully torque, and improved gas mileage, it also allows you to perfectly calibrate your speedometer for custom tire sizes and axle ratios, while adjusting your transmission for high performance power shift points.

im pretty sure it was this one they used for that truck

and a link for the website with more info

Yeah, wtf....

How come almost all of the domestic market has aftermarket programmers for their cars - while WE the import tuner market have NONE!

I can't believe that it is THAT difficult to release a cheap enough programmer for our vehicle....
