Question Hub Centering Rings?

I ordered a set of 17" Exel V-8s with 215/45/17 from WheelMax.com. I've read that some people needed Hub centering rings. What are these, why would you need them.

and will I need them for what I have? Stock height LX Coupe 2001?

One02Civic2nv is an unknown quantity at this point
I have 17" Enkei's on my 02 Ex. I didn't put the hub rings on at first, but then I ended up buying them anyways. There was no difference with or without them. They just help to keep the wheel centered on the hub. I say they are definately optional. But if they give you piece of mind, its worth the $11 bucks.

I called wheelmax back, within 4 hours of ordering my rims they dropped in price by $100. I asked about the rings they told me that I didn't need them.

They are also recrediting my account by the $100

So I got 17" Exel V-8s with 215/45/17 tires for $610 mounted, balanced, shipped

They help keep large wheels centered while you're strapping them on and also help the wheel from wobbling if it comes loose. If you use 17" or bigger it's recommended but not required.
