Question Just got rims and want a low profile tire

I just got 17 X 7 rims and was wondering what type size tire to get. I really aint that sharp with tires so any help is appreciated (I already searched and went to the tire caculator). Anyways wondering if I should get a 215/45/17 or something in the 205, I would like it to be low profile something around 2.5 to 3 inch sidewall. If soemone could post pics as well i would be very thankful. Thanks !!!

205/40-17 is about as low profile as most 7th gen drivers go. The sidewall is a little over 3" but your wheels will need that much protection, believe it! If you use this size, it really helps the looks if you lower your car because the gap is pretty noticable.

205/45-17 is a good "in-between" tire but it isn't used very much because the choice of tires is limited.

215/45-17 has the tallest sidewall (about 3/5" taller than the 205/40). It just depends if you can live with the look. Here is my car with the 215/45-17's:

Do you know what brand you are getting? Will they be all-season or will you purchase a "summer" tire and put your factory stuff back on during the winter?

40 series tires make alot of road noise and you end up hitting imperfections in the road pretty hard, since the sidewall is so low. The ride quality of the 45 series tire will probably be better. But personally, I like the look of the 205/40/17s. So if you want the look of a low-low pro tire, go with 205/40/17. It's all about your own preference of look versus better ride quality.
