AC Compressor Clutch not engaging / AC not cooling
AC Compressor Clutch not engaging / AC not cooling
AC not working in 2024 Honda Civic Touring.
I tried searching on the forum with no luck, Thus this post.
In troubleshooting did the following:
1. Turned inner clutch on AC compressor and turns with slight resistance (good)
2. Checked High and Low pressure AC fill ports - engaged Schrader valve ever so quickly and both sides pressurized. Did for a quick diagnostics of if system pressurized is all. Gives no other details if enough refrigerant / etc. but just quickly identifies system pressurized.
3. Started car, turned on AC (Fan on, temp to 60F) and AC compressor clutch not engaging.
4. Checked car side AC fuse (#43) and its good. Cannot identify any fuse engine side specific to AC based on diagram on fuse box lid.
In trying to troubleshoot wanted to check AC compressor clutch relay (if one exists) and unable to find a diagram ANYWHERE on relays. All searches go to fuses - don't need that - got this figured out. Wanted to test across positive and power send to clutch to rule out relay being bad but unable to find ANYWHERE.
Just trying to go through initial steps to check system and see if car electronics side, engine side, etc. and thus at the AC relay to diagnose between the two.
Found a post that stated the relay is the black one on the left side above the two green relays and this is NOT the correct relay. I jumpered across positive and power send and the radiator cooling fans engaged. Didn't want to continue that same process across all relays in fear of damaging something.
Any assistance appreciated.
Thanks.
