Need Hints For Upper Map Light Console Removal [solved]
Need Hints For Upper Map Light Console Removal [solved]
Hey all - new to forum with our new 2023 Civic Hatchback. I plan to install a dash cam that mounts behind the rear view mirror. The power feed ties into power up in the map light. so I need to drop that panel down. I have used my trim tools and tried to pop it out but have had no luck. Please advise if anyone knows if there is a trick to getting this panel off or if it is just really hard and to pry a bit harder. I have been reluctant as I don't want to break anything. Thanks all!

This is the 2023 version. No glasses case, I think because it has a sunroof.

That looks a lot more different than the 10th gen Civic than I expected it to. Usually they hide screws underneath the light covers though.

Not sure why I didn't find this YT video before. I thought I had searched for it. This is the camera I will be installing. It is on a 2022 Civic with the same exact upper console area. There seem to be no hidden screws, but the removal is done tugging on the front of the panel, not the rear where I was focused.
Thanks again for your guidance. Have an awesome week!
