(All) Quality Headlight Options - Stock and Aftermarket
(All) Quality Headlight Options - Stock and Aftermarket
I've been looking to get a cleaner headlight setup for the Civic but other than buying Honda, TYC or another OEM-like retailers I am curous what headlight assemblies on the market are also great replacements should someone want to do something different.
Question: I'm seeing conflicting reports that 96-98 and 99-00 headlights are not compatible. Is this true?
I am looking to get New Front and Rear Light Assemblies soon and am looking at all the options both Stock and Aftermarket. I will update this at a later time. Looking for feedback and advice.
I replaced all my bulbs minus headlight and turn signals with LEDS and want to finish the LED Light Overhaul I am doing but still need to find new assemblies after I bent the old bulb housing trying to unplug my driver side bulb. Im hoping it's just the little housing on the bulb that is bent and not the assemble as a whole. Due to weather and no garage I am unable to remove my front bumper to completely remove the housings altogether. Thanks for the help in advance.
My picks so far.

Yes. The makeup of the front end of each is different.

Honestly, I'm not sure I'd waste my money on any of those. Cheap housings degrade terribly in no time. Yes, I understand name brand is 2-3x more expensive, but you won't be replacing them in 6 months. Aesthetically speaking, though, the JDM Civics are by far the best looking in my opinion.

As far as choosing a set I have seen many people buy these aftermarket headlights and surely there is 1 brand that has figured it out. Just seems odd there is no real aftermarket lighting companies for things like Headlights and tail lights.
I most likely need new housings as my drive side one I bent the crpa out of the headlight bulb trying to upgrade to my Super Bright LED Bulbs but couldnt get it out and in the process bent the bulb housing or the headlight housing internally and now my bulb is crooked in the socket. I dont have a garage and it's nearing negative temperatures soon so I think it'd be easier to just replace the whole thing that to tackle with it again. What do you think?

I'd try bending it back, but nothing changes about what I said. You're better off getting a junkyard headlight and restoring it than using crappy aftermarket. The ones that have it figured out are still near OEM pricing.

Re: (All) Quality Headlight Options - Stock and Aftermarket
Thanks again.
Hoping the next few months I should be able to tackle the Timing Belt Overhaul including new motor and torque mounts by Hasport, lightweight crank (Not Underdriven) and adjustable timing gear for future tunes. After that I want to do my Shifter Overhaul and then the car is solid. Misc suspension upgrades after that and hope to possiby track the car this year at a local track. So pumped for this year.

You can always throw a HID projector retrofit - unsure if possible in 5/6th gen, but.
I have morimoto mini (retrofit made by xriceboix)
