Aftermarket shift knob on automatic
Aftermarket shift **** on automatic
Is there any way I can put a different shift **** on my automatic 2001 Civic EX? I've seen it done on manuals and my Scion TC is an automatic with a boot and I can unscrew the **** from it. I figure adding a boot would keep debris from getting in around the shifter plus the gray trim around mine is cracked. If it's possible what would I need to make this work? The EX shifter has to be pressed to change gears.

no idea what the auto shifter looks like an a 7thgen, but I did on my 10th. I'm sure you can apply the same logic to the 7th if you're crafty enough

10thgen cvt shift **** has a trigger with a cam mechanism that depresses the center shaft of the shift lever assembly to let you shift between gear selections. Can't imagine the 7thgen being too different in that respect
edit: thread with all the research and design phase stuff that went into my adapter: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...f-concept.html

It's not that different at all, 7th Gen is very similar to your 10th gen. Also you did a good clean job on that! I appreciate the pictures and information. I'll take some measurements and do some research as well to get mine like that 👌🏼
