Rep Power: 0 A/C Coil bad?
Hey All,
My son has a 2010 Civic and the A/C has quit. We worked on it last night after checking forums and such. I'm pretty good of a mechanic but a wiring diag would really help.
Here is what I have: Fans work (come on as they should), Swapped the relay out and checked he fuses- all good. System has pressure.
When I checked the relay contacts on the fuse box (drivers side under hood) I found I had 12v as I should. But the load (Coil ) contact was open....so probably bad coil.
I unplugged the connector next to the Alt. and checked the continuity of the 2 outside wires of the connector they should continuity.
Before I spend the $$ on a new coil, I would like to make sure it is bad (and not the wiring going to it.). However I'm not sure if the 2 wires I checked are for the coil. There is a 3rd wire in the middle of the connector and I don't know what it is for.
Can someone tell me which wires in the connector I should be checking to test the coil's continuity?
Thanks!!
KYWoody
