2014 Civic Coupe EX:
The manual is somewhat vague and I know there are many routines not mentioned I can do to ensure my car maintains a long life. Other than the regular oil changes, filter changes and fluid changes, anyone have a more descriptive site, manual or suggestion(s) for regular interval maintenance to make my girl stay healthy and last a long time?
Thank you

Re: Maintenance Suggestions
The manual covers all that you would need to do really besides waxing and washing the paint. Being a 2014 it probably has the maintenance light that will come on so you don’t even need to look at the mileage

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Maintenance Suggestions
Oil change intervals as determined by the maintenance minder system could go anywhere from 4k to well past 10k depending on your driving conditions
Rotate tires 5-6k miles, most people just do it when the oil is changed
Filters (engine and cabin) will show up on the minder system roughly every 25k miles
Auto (CVT) trans fluid we still suggest every 30k just because we know Hondas track record on transmissions and every little bit helps
Plugs @100k
Valve adjust check @100k
Coolant@ around 100k/10 years, then every 5/50 thereafter
Brake fluid every 3 years
Alignment whenever you have to get new tires, and anytime you notice the steering wheel is no longer centered when driving straight down the road
Wiper inserts maybe once a year.....depending
Check and air tire pressures at least once per month
I'm sure there's more....

Re: Maintenance Suggestions
Was told need to replace my drive belt on my 2013 Civic. How much should that cost? Dealer's estimate seemed high!
I expect the original belt to last around 10 years/100k, give or take.
Belts from some aftermarket sources (discount parts stores) may not last nearly as long as the original.
Open the hood and take a look at it, use a flashlight...... Is it cracking like this?
If you don't see cracking like that.............
Ask him yourself.
