Forward Facing Child Seat
Forward Facing Child Seat
I have a 2007 Civic EX and bought one of those convertible child seats for my son that is made to be rear facing until he is bigger and then you can turn the seat around and keep using it forward facing.
Here's my problem... I turned it around recently and found that the belt that latches to the top latch on the Civic can't be fully tightened. The reason it can't be fully tightened is that the car seat belt can't be cinched down far enough because of how close the latch is to the seat.
Ultimately, I'm going to have to get a new car seat that works in the forward facing position, but these aren't cheap, and I was wondering if anyone else out there has already figured out which seat will work and latch safely?
You'd think there would be a wealth of information out on the interwebs, but surprisingly, I couldn't find any guidance to which seats will fit in any specific car...
Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: Forward Facing Child Seat
Hi! thanks for responding. Yes, the LATCH on the rear deck is placed in such a way that the seat I have won't work. I've done everything I can to tighten the belt, but it's not going to work in the forward facing position. Do you know of a seat that will work in my car? I'm going to have to get a new one, but I was hoping someone could point me towards one that they know will work so I don't run into this again and end up having to purchase seats until I find one that works.
I attached a picture so you can see what I'm dealing with. The length of this whole set up means that when I have cinched the belt down as much as is physically possible, it's still loose on the LATCH.
Re: Forward Facing Child Seat
If you go to a baby store like Baby’s R Us or By By Baby they will let you try them out before you buy it.
My daughter has a Diono which fit great in my Fit. It’s a narrow seat.
