Total nube. I have aquired a 93 ish civic w. a JDM B16 engine in it. Has several mods, i do not know what they are, I am unable to contact the previous owner.. It seems to have an OEM ECU w.a phone jack port on it. After sitting for about 2 years I finally got it running & when I drive it it cuts out & "sputters" between all five gears not letting me max out the RPM's..The RPM guage does not work, not sure what's up w.that right now, so I can't tell what the RPM's are but definetly should be getting to higher revs between gears.. IMO. I've researched HONDATA but can't quite tell which unit to use, I am confused a bit between the OEM requirements of the car and what or how tuning will work. What gets tuned.? the engine or the car?? I mean I know the engine but how in relation to the car?? if that makes sense.. Any help greatly appreciated

A local tuner may be able to help you figure out what you have and get it properly tuned.
