I have a shell here that needs some love. She's a 1983 civic wagon, no rust, garage kept. The motor is toast. The 5 speed manual transmission seems fine.
There is a 1.8L 1984 Accord motor with very low miles at a junkyard close by for a reasonable price.
Does anyone know if the civic 5-speed trans will bolt onto that motor? Will the accord motor bolt into the existing civic mounts?
I could not find a replacement motor for this civic anywhere in the country.
They all use E series engines, so that would make me fairly optimistic based on the cross-compatibility of other Honda engines in the same family. It means it'd almost certainly just bolt in to the car as well.
I'd pull the trans and try to mate them at the junkyard.
