Re: B18c GSR swap

I have a 95 CX hatch manual with 250k miles. In preparation for the end of life for a 87 hp engine, is a B18 (C or C1) a bolt in operation? Thanks.

Re: B18c GSR swap

So it looks like I need to use a D series engine. I see they were made until 2000? Now looking for a D16 to replace my D15. Adding 50% more hp will definitely help at altitude and climbing hills.

2005, depending on what D-series.

Most will require, at the very least, the corresponding ECU and wiring harness.

Cheapest and easiest swap *worth* doing is probably a B18B1 from an Integra.

Re: B18c GSR swap

I thought the Acura engines needed Acura transaxles, too? I have a low final drive like a VX (3.25) and want to keep that, since I do a lot of long distance driving. If a B18B1 will bolt up, that would be terrific.Like I said before, going from 87 to 125 hp is plenty for my use. I presumed that I would need the corresponding ECU, thanks for verifying that.

You will still need engine, trans, mounts, ecu, wiring, etc.

Re: B18c GSR swap

Okay, that puts this exercise back to a D16xx engine and ECU plus wiring. At 271,000 miles, the D15 is getting a little tired.

Corresponds more to the engine family than just Acura or Honda. B-series matches with B, and so forth. The only *kind of* interchangeable one is the F series and the H series.
