Faulty A/C button

I recently purchased a 2003 civic for 500 bucks because the transmission was supposedly bad. We put a new CAT converter and the trans and car run great. Only problem is the A/C button won’t engage or turn on the A/C. I had the A/C serviced and it is fine, just won’t turn on with the A/C button. What else can I do to fix the button for the A/C

Will it turn on if you bypass the relay?

Re: Faulty A/C button

How did they service the A/C if they couldn't turn it on?

Re: Faulty A/C button

There's a whole bunch of stuff involved in controlling the AC system, the pushbutton switch itself is not a likely cause of the problem.

Re: Faulty A/C button

My son had it serviced and it worked. I guess they bypassed the starter relay. The on off button won’t turn it on.

Re: Faulty A/C button

I think so. My son took it in and the mechanic serviced it, no leaks or problems other than the A/C button doesn’t turn on the A/C.

Re: Faulty A/C button

If the system is low/empty, the A/C button won't turn on or engage the compressor clutch. The very first thing that should happen is the system pressure should be checked. If you force the compressor on when it's low/empty you will cause damage.

Re: Faulty A/C button

Just in case this is remotely the issue but the A/C button light will not illuminate if the fan speed dial is in the off position.
