02 civic Ac issue
02 civic Ac issue
So after a few months from of installing an Ac condenser in my car and fill up with Freon, my Ac is not. Working until checked and see that the clutch is not engaging at all. I turned on the car and tapped the clutch several times but it still doesn't showing any signs of wanting to work. Could it be that the clutch is the problem since I'm sure that refrigerant in the system?

Re: 02 civic Ac issue
Do both radiator fans still come on when you try to turn on the AC?
This is important information.
If they DO still come on when you turn on the AC, the system still has enough pressure to turn on the compressor.

Re: 02 civic Ac issue
yeah i think they do as i tried that before but,let me double check in the morning to make sure and get back to you.
Re: 02 civic Ac issue
so i turned on the Ac and checked the fans but they are not spinning at all. I watch them for a few minutes but they didn't came on..is there a way to check for leak in the system without taking it to a shop to have check?
Re: 02 civic Ac issue
ok. Watched a video on YouTube where this guy used the same freon with die in it and he put it in the system and afterwards,he used a uv light in the dark to chech for leaks. I might just have Orings that needed replacement. But i might just take it to shop because i dont have much place to put much tools.

Re: 02 civic Ac issue
If the pressure switch (located on the drier can) shows continuity (ohm meter test) , the system still has enough freon inside it to turn the compressor on.
Re: 02 civic Ac issue
There's other possible reasons besides lacking freon. It's still 50/50 chance of being an electrical or mechanical problem instead of a low freon problem.

Re: 02 civic Ac issue
so back to this Ac issue. I removed the compressor clutch condenser relay used a paper clip and put into the 87 and 30 hole and turn on the Ac and the compressor came on but the air wasn't cold..
Re: 02 civic Ac issue
no i didn't because it was raining and it still is raining.. I just open the cap from the high and low pressure lines and pressed the tip on the inside to see if any freon in the lnes.but i know what i did couldn't determine the pressure. I think i have a leak. After i pulled the relay, i shake and listen for any shaking from the inside but there was non and i switch the relays to and it was the same with all of them so i think its leaking somewhere.
