Have a 2001 LX. was working under the valve cover today to do a couple of things ( valve adjusment, tube seals, vc gasket, etc. ). as i was preparing to adjust the valves i noticed that when i had the cam gear at TDC, the crank pulley was not in time.The mark that is on the crank pulley is not lined up where its supposed to be. Led me to believe my car has jumped timing which i think was the reason a couple weeks ago my cars engine randomly died twice. So i wanted to know how would i go about putting the engine back into time? Remove belt, line up the crank pulley, line up cam gear, and put belt back on? I'd would really appreciate any tips/advice. Important note: did you put the engine in the right position before checking?
crankshaft rotates twice as fast as the camshaft

Thanks for the reply! by right position do you mean having cylinder #1 at TDC? Or did you mean something else?

cylinder 1 can be in TDC, but camshaft can be in two different positions, depending on which cycle the cylinder is in

If the engine is out of time you will want to do a full timing belt job (timing belt, tensioner, likely a water pump). Reusing the same belt/tensioner is just asking for it to jump time again.
