2002 civic 1.7L will not start unless given gas
I have a 2002 honda civic 1.7L 5 speed manual transmission. Just finished replacing head gasket and timing belt and now the car will not start unless you hold the throttle open and keep giving it gas. The head was resurfaced and its in time with new spark plugs. The car will idle really rough after a minute of giving it gas and seems like a misfire however no codes will be thrown. Im not a hinda expert so anything will help.

Confirm mechanical timing.
Failing/weak fuel pump?
Can you hear the injectors firing using a piece of pvc pipe or auto stethoscope?
