Re: HELP no spark 2002 civic

Did you prime the fuel pump before attempting to start it?

It sounds to me you cranked it until it wouldn't crank no more, and that you've flooded the engine.

Re: HELP no spark 2002 civic

Start by checking fuses, both under the dash and under the hood.

A quick way to check for spark is to leave the plug in the cylinder, take off the coil, and stick a test light in there see if it lights when you crank it over. (Ground it first)

Not really sure what you mean when you say you pulled the spark plug out, it was connected to the coil when you did this?

im assuming he removed the spark plug and plugged it into the end of the coil then watched it while somebody cranked the engine,

not really the best way to do things unless you secure a good ground wire from the spark plug to the engine block,

simply resting the spark plug against the engine will not work (well)
