Unhappy My car wont start anymore

Alright, unfortunately, bad news arrived for me. My car will not start, no crank just the clicking sound of relay, I thought, when you turn your key to ignition position.

Last week, it happened many times but I could get my car to start when I wait for the clicking noise (from the cluster or in the car somewhere) and I could start but for today, the trick wouldn't work anymore.

The battery and alternator are good I just had them replaced last year. No sign or low battery or anything.

I was about to go home today so I had to leave the car in the parking structure and I will call the tow service tomorrow. This reliable car is breaking apart : (

Hopefully, it's just the starter.

Maybe it's the starter, are you getting any spark at all?

Re: My car wont start anymore

It is possible the battery or alternator went bad. Possible bad connection from the battery to starter or alternator

Clicking relay is usually the battery. Take it in and get it tested before you start looking into other things. Some batteries last longer than others.

If you DIY then yes, but because I do not have time and tools plus this happen outside my home, I wish it happened at my home so i don't have to pay the towing service ($135). I think I can reimburse thru my insurance though.

But this time i don't trust the outside shop because of the workmanship. We can't blame the parts anyway. So, this time I will use dealer service. The start itself cause $285 listed on honda e-store.They quoted price is $540.

I checked the price on the Autozone, the starter cost approx $110 + core which is around $70-80 so i think you have to return part to the store to get that portion of money back. So DIY is definitely not bad at all

Well, I wish i can do it myself but not this time.

ha ha when i first saw the price i thought, damn, that too much. But, yep it works.

I just saw that the starter is just below the resonator. It should be easy job also but they still charge a lot for labors.

Thanks tbohar.

For some reasons, honda dealers in this area are vampire.

To tell the truth, i am not happy with the price. i might try to call other and see what the market price is.

Problem keep coming. Now, my power steering hydraulic line is seeping near the pump. The estimated price to fix that is $300.
