Evap Issues 99 Honda Civic DX (FIX)
Evap Issues 99 Honda Civic DX (FIX)
There is numerous misleading information on the internet upon the honda civic evap systems and locations of it as well as the charcoal canister. Even less informaton on 99 Civic DX specifically.
Brining the problem to light, I have a 200,000 mile civic dx that after repairing has become immaculate except for the p1457 code. Randomly came on for evap.
On these cars, the evap is in the back, by the fuel tank. there are a couple of lines going to and from, one being return and one going to. The one big line running with your fuel lines underneath is actually a vent which if it has any leaks it will throw a code.
My issue was that the hose itself was leaking, replaced with new hose and the light went out. Hope this helps with some of those pesky evap issues, if any questions feel free to ask. Been thru evap issues too many times on hondas.

hopefully this isn’t to late I realize this was two years ago. Did you have to make the line or do you remember where you got this line? If you made it how’d you do it? Thanks in advance

Take measurements so you know the id of the hoses you're using. Then go to the plumbing section and find suitable brass fittings.
