, I did everything the way he did and when I flipped the switch on to test it the fuel pump didn't prime. So I tried a few things and realized something with the switch is maybe wrong. I reverted everything back to the normal connection (just 1 wire anyways) and it still wont prime the fuel pump. I didnt go through every single fuse but I went through the ones It likely would be such as FI E/M (ECM/PCM) (hood fuse box) and the Fuel Pump (SRS Unit) (interior fuse box). It cranks but wont turn over because the fuel pump is not priming or turning on.. I ran my multimeter up to the cable harness that plugs into the relay and am getting 12volts on the one thats always hot when the car is off and the one that I cut and added the switch to. It doesnt seem to be a power issue because of that I would assume. Im thinking either I need to replace every last fuse and hope that fixes it or buy another "fuel pump relay/Main relay assembly",
This car's interior is legit mint and only has 140,000 miles, I was getting excited about this car. I bought this 99 civic LX a month or 2 ago and have slowly been getting it nice. I put some koning rims on it, lowered it with some decent coil overs, and just started running new speaker wires for the speakers (they are working now), it also has a full system exhaust that is terribly loud. Since I got it I also fixed the AC, the CV axles, got some nice LED headlights and im sure I did more. I'm in the process of fixing the rear driver side window motor (should be here saturday) for the tint appointment later this month. I'm confused and have NO idea what to do at this point without spending more money, I feel like a mechanic would charge me 1,000+ to diagnose and fix it. For that price I'll just take my losses and sell it on FB market IU already have quite a bit into it from the stuff I fixed and added. I want to keep this car, Im starting to really like it as it replaced my 2000 civic coupe that had 240k miles and interior issues. I'm sure this is fixable but I'm not sure what to do next other than get another fuel pump relay, replace all the fuses and maybe get a code reader. I legit want to manual K swap this thing and am so close to having the car in a nice state. Please please help.
The speaker wire in the photo is for the right rear 6x9 speaker and isnt apart of the killswitch, I was using 16 gauge copper for the switch. Also ignore the radio hanging down its not apart of the problem. Current state of my car (car seat removed) The fuel pump relay I tapped into (glove box).
So apparently I didn't check every fuse, because I got it working. #13 fuse was blown. Just followed this guide "How To Test The PGM-FI Main Relay (1996-1998 1.6L Honda Civic)" https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/ho...e-main-relay-1 . Got to the point where it said node 5 should have 12volts when the key is on the on position and it didn't.. It then said if you dont have 12volts to check/replace fuse 13. Just like that my headache is gone, I'm still going to put the switch back in, but this time with both terminals completely disconnected. Hopefully this helps someone in the future, I'm an idiot I know.
