Most likely a failed ignition coil. Watch the video in my signature below this reply.

Re: Please help 98civic

The thing is when I put the brand new distributer on it comes with a brand new coil rotor and see I can take the plug out no spark even tried new-ish ones no spark but I ran test light on the coil n pos n neg n injectors all passed...ppl told me it could be the plug wires but I just don't see that keeping it from firing at all when not all are bad visually

What brand were the sensors? And FYI aftermarket distributors don't work well with these cars

Re: Please help 98civic

Not sure on the distributor but the crankshaft sensor was an aftermarket...I been seeing something bout the Inertia switch is that possible or the cam sensor if this gen even has that....when i drove it last it drove perfectly fine but that night when I cut it off got to 18 sum degrees few hrs later I went to start it and all it dose is crank.

Re: Please help 98civic

Put OEM sensors in it and put the old distributor in with a new coil/igniter depending on what failed.
or get a distributor out of a junkyard, preferably out of a car that's wrecked that way you know the engine was running before the car went to the yard.

Re: Please help 98civic

I found out today that I have no power going to my distributer it's leaving battery going to fuse boxes but not reaching distributer only thing I can think of is wires broken connectors for corrosion etc all is good last guess would be ecm is there a way to test it no visible damage or corrosion...I am the 2 or 3ard owner and I found this under my capet in my passenger floorboard yes in the floorboard just the car carpet

If it's going to the fuse box, is it leaving the fuse box? Check fuses.
and I don't know if you tried posting a photo but I can't see anything

Re: Please help 98civic

Yes I used a test light almost everywhere and the only place it dosent light up is the distributer...like this makes almost. No sense only thing I can think of is the ecm but everywhere I look ppl say it's a possibility but unlikely when I turn my key on to (ii)position u can hear the fuel pump huming so I know it's working

Re: Please help 98civic

electrical problems are never well explained, weird stuff happens and unrelated things actually are the causes.
