Speedometer not working, help?

I bought a 1996 Honda Civic dx 2 door coupe. The speedometer doesn’t work. I replaced the speed sensor but it still doesn’t work. Any suggestions?

There's a tsb about the wire harness for that sensor getting chewed up by the belts. Backside of the engine near the top

Re: Speedometer not working, help?

Thank you, I will have to check that. Any reason that both o2 sensors are causing a check engine light?

Re: Speedometer not working, help?

They could both be bad? What codes are you getting? Pxxxx format.
May want to check the wiring harnesses for damage considering you have the issue with the speedo

P0135: check the wiring but the sensor is probably bad, buy Denso or ntk, nothing else

P0501: check the wiring as I mentioned earlier, what brand was the new sensor that you put in? Do you still have the old one?

P1298: could be the wiring, could be a bad eld

P0141: check the wiring but the sensor is probably bad, buy Denso or ntk, nothing else
