Which mini OBD2 I can buy for my civic
Which mini OBD2 I can buy for my civic
Hi everybody,
How to remove the orange Abs light on the board of my civic 1998 please?
I tried a scan, but noone seems to have the old software.
Is there in the market a cheap diagnostic device which I could buy ?
Thank you

You more than likely have a bad wheel speed sensor, so assuming it is, you’d need to replace it in order for the light to turn off. If you’re in the US, I believe autozone will scan it for free. If not, there’s lots of options on Amazon for code readers that can also scan ABS codes.

I'm in Europe and all of code readers I've found so far can read cars only from year 2010 .
Do you have any link where I can buy a diagnostic device which can read my 1998 civic please?

Perhaps Europe is different but I’ve managed all my OBD2 cars through standard readers, ranging from 1996 to 2013. I’m not sure where to point you.

are you going to parts stores or looking online?
not all readers are SRS enabled or honda codes. Got mine from amazon in US to find one that reads SRS and honda codes

The light is on because there's a fault. The specific fault will have a code number that explains what the fault is. (Most likely a wheel speed sensor as previously stated) by reading the code you know where to start diagnosing.

Most of them can check from 2010 and on

just stick it to the OBD port, use bluetooth to link it to your phone.
Then download the torque app to your phone to get the data from the reader.

OK, I was having issues to understand what your problems were.
Looks like you will need to do the paperclip method.
