Wipers behaving strange
Wipers behaving strange
People,
2001 civic, when I turn on wipers (no engine running) on either intermittent/slow/fast, no problem. They swipe back/forth nicely. Until I press the windshield washer spray button to spray water on the windshield, then they slam hard on the lower base of the windshield. Again, I try it to repeat, they behave well, then test again with the washer fluid pumping, and bang bang bang. Anyone ever had this happen?

Re: Wipers behaving strange
If you grab a wiper and try to move it up and down the windshield, does it have a lot of play? It should stay mostly in place.
I'm thinking there is something wrong with the wiper "transmission". It's not possible for the motor to make the wipers travel further than they should, all it does it spin. Pop the cowl tray off and have a look inside.
