Rust near front jack stand support

Just found a good amount of rust under my car. Right in the front area. If I put my hand on the back side of the front support point under my front door and run it back, it's rusting out right there about a foot or so. I've been looking online to see if there is any fix to be done. This car means a lot to me as my best friend and I had to swap the engine and fix a lot of other things when I got it and then he died. So I'd like to fix it if possible. Is this structural and if so is it extremely dangerous for me to drive? Thanks!

That would be the rocker panel based on your description, and yes it's structural. It won't crumble out from under you, but I'd definitely look to repair it before it gets any worse. You should be able to get panels fairly cheap.
