I just bought a 2004 Honda Civic that was repainted shortly before I bought it.
My question is about the two rubber moldings that run along the channels on top. The paint place removed the moldings before painting and the former owner decided to just leave them in the trunk. I couldn't ask about it because I picked it up as a dealer trade-in. I've cleaned and reconditioned them, but how exactly should they be attached? There are metal clips on each end of the moldings and the divots for them are still on the car. Should I just attach them as-is, or do I need some 3M molding tape to stick them onto the surface?
Ah thanks, I'll check for slack when I put them on tomorrow.
Do you happen to know which end of the molding faces to the front? One end is flat and the other has an extended wedge shape. I'm sure it's easy enough to figure out when I get there, but just in case you're familiar with that.
