Tapping/Knocking when Under Load at Low Rpm.
Tapping/Knocking when Under Load at Low Rpm.
For the past 7k or so miles my car makes what could be described as a tapping, knocking, or metal clicking sound. The tapping is only noticeable at low rpm (under 2k) with the gear all the way engaged (it is not noticeable when reving with the car in neutral or revving with the clutch pressed in) The noise seems worse when I first start up my car in the morning but it is hard to tell. The noise will go away intermittently but the majority of the time is present. It's hard to tell but I don't think the noise follows rpm.
Here is a link to the sound in the car:
Things I’ve tested: I’ve taken off the heat shield to see if that is what was causing the noise. I’ve changed the transmission fluid to see if that would help (did not). I haven't done much more because I don’t really have many ideas as to what could be causing the sound.
Car info: The car is a 2005 Manual Honda Civic Coupe Dx with around 265k miles. The car has been in my family for the past 10 years and most of the miles have been highway until the past two years. The car drives well except for one other issue I recently discovered. The issue is that after driving 20-40 minutes at 60-75mph the car will randomly buck as if it miss fired. If you would like more info on the I created another forum thread to get help diagnosing that issue. https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...ml#post4816587 I am I unsure if the two issues are related.
Any help diagnosing this would be very appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
