I hit a rock yesterday on a track and looks like it caught the suspension. I carried on driving and the car seems fine but then the engine warning light came on a couple of hours later.
I'm on holiday in Austria at the moment and have called some garages to look at it but they dont speak any English!
From the photos attached, how serious do you think it is? I'm considering driving back to the UK (about 1000 miles) as it is because it feels fine on the road, but could that be a bad idea as the warning light is on?

Re: Hit a Rock with Suspension
looks like you nailed the subframe, might want to get the alignment checked when you get home.
as for the check engine light, it's just on solid? not flashing when driving?
as long as its just solid and the car seems to drive ok i would just drive home, fuel mileage may be down slightly
if you can find a place like a parts store that will scan the code so you know what the engine code is that would be good

Thanks Colin! Yes the light is just on rather than flashing. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes on the way back, everything else seems to be working fine so fingers crossed its not too serious.
If the car drives okay I would drive it back. The CEL could be a coincidence or you could have knocked a sensor loose or something. Get it scanned if you can and maybe take it easy on the way back home.
Thanks guys appreciate the advice and good to know it's hopefully not that serious. I'll book an appointment with a garage to get everything checked over when I'm back home and keep an eye on it in the meantime.
