How can I temporarily disable Bluetooth for phone call? [solved]
How can I temporarily disable Bluetooth for phone call? [solved]
2012 Honda Civic EX
Does anyone know if Bluetooth audio can be temporarily disabled for/during a phone call?
Recently, people have told me that the background noise is excessive. This seems to have coincided with a new set of tires that I put on.
If I turn on my bluetooth headset, it will override. But after the phone call, it will go back to the car speakers, but then will play back music intermittently or not at all. And then the phone goes nuts.
A restart of the phone seems to cure it, but I can't do that while I'm driving.
The solution would seem to be to temporarily disable the car's bluetooth. Or perhaps use the aux jack for my music, which I really don't want to do, unless it's my only option.
Thanks, Videot7

I experimented a little bit today and here is what I found:
While this process is relatively easy, I DO NOT RECOMMEND that you do this while driving. Pull over or have a partner do this for you.
- Hit the Phone button
- Using the entertainment center **** (if that's what it's called), scroll to Phone Setup and hit the center button
- Scroll to Connection and hit the Select button in the middle of the entertainment center ****
- Scroll to Disconnect Phone and hit the Select button
- It will ask you if you would like to disconnect your phone.
- Select and click Yes
- Hit the Phone Button
- It will tell you that no phones are connected and ask if you would like to connect to a phone. Select Yes
- It will then list your choices. In my case, I only have one phone, and it is highlighted. Select your phone and hit the Select button.

I have also noticed that you cannot disconnect your phone while you're in a call.
And that the phone will reconnect when you start the car again.
Take care,
