unibody has rusted out

I have a 2006 honda civic with 157,000 miles. It has had very few problems except for this 1 big problem. My tech put it up to do an alignment and discovered that on the rear left my unibody has rusted out. The other side is fine and my vehicle has very little rust except for that. I plan on taking it to a dealer to see if they can do anything and also to see if Honda will do anything. Wondered if anyone else has had this issue.

Got pics of the rust damage?

You're in the rust belt, I assume? Rust happens, rust never sleeps.

The rust perforation warranty period was 5 years, see your owners information.
I'm just going to assume Honda won't do anything for you as far as warranty is concerned.

Repairs will cost you, so unless the dealership has a bodyshop you may as well visit bodyshops and get a few estimates.

Ask around, find out what bodyshops do the best quality work.... If you care about the car and want it to last and look good, don't shop for lowest price.
