squeaking

I have an '02 Civic Lx, and whenever I push the gas pedal to a certain postition, I hear this high pitched squeaking noise from under the hood. It seems louder when I first start driving the car for the day, but I still hear it no matter how long i've been driving for. It only does it when the engine is at a certain lower rpm, somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm, and doesn't squeak before or after it's at that rpm. I'm going to take it back to the dealer to get it checked out, but I was wondering if anyone else had or has this problem, and knows what it is. Thanks

I did take it back, but by the time I got to the dealership, the car was too warm. I left it there for a few hours, and came back to drive it, but the road that the dealership is on is a 45 mph road, and the nearest side street is a mile away, so by the time I got to the side street, the car was to warmed up. I left it overnight, and came back in the morning, but again, by the time I got to the side street, the car was too warm already. They did check the car out, but found nothing wrong with it. I'm not going to worry about it. I've heard other 7th gen civics do the same exact thing, so I'm guessing it's some quirk.

Have you tried doing this while in neutral? Does it squeak? Ask them if they have a road simulator (dunno what that machine is called) to rev up the car instead of going on a street.

The squeaking noise I am hearing is around the sound of a dog whistle when it is warmed up and in the rpm range. It's a little lower sounding than a dog whitle when the engine is cold. The squeaking noise is also affected by the humitidy/dampness. The higher the humidity/dampness is, the louder and longer lasting the squeaking is. When I drive home from work at night (around 10:30 pm), I take side roads home, and only live a few miles away from work, and I notice the squeaking mostly the whole time I am driving.

I believe I've been having the same problem as you. Check my thread.

I gave up on trying to get Honda to fix it... I have the extended warranty, so if my engine explodes, I will just make the ****ers fix it. I don't have enough time to be going back there 4 or 5 times trying to show them the noise, have them hear it and tell me to come back next week, then come back and go through the cycle again.

And that is literally what happened to me three times already.

If you do end up figuring out what the noise is, please update, so maybe I can just go back, tell them what it is and have them fix it, instead if playing games.

DAMN i have this problem too..
i thought it was only me but when i rode my friends 03 sedan it has same noise too..dont kno where that is from tho..
mine is 03 ex coupe and it has exactly same problem urs do..
i think mine doesnt have a certain rpm range in which problem occurs
but i noticed that the noise is much more noticeable in the morning especially when i just come out from the garage on the way to school..
and especially when i press the clutch pedal in 1st gear..
try this..cuz the street in front of my house has a stop sign about 50m ahead, i gotta make a stop before the car gets into 2nd gear..so i have to press the clutch with 1st gear in..and i hear loudest whistling noise ever..i took it back to dealer with other problems and i didnt kno how to explain that noise so i just said theres a high-pitched noise from engine bay..they said they checked it but didnt hear any noise..fvckers..anyway..try what i just said..pressing clutch during driving with 1st gear in..

and yeh if someone takes it back or just find any info about this problem plz post it..thanks
