Exclamation gas MPGs jumped up!

ok for the past few months i get 22-24mpg ('02 EX 4dr auto). and recently i filled up a full tank. the machine said i filled up 12.2 gallons. its weird cuz i usually end up getting 11.5 when gas light comes on. when i use to get 22-24mpg i would hit 100miles when im left with half a tank, and the last time i checked i hit 100miles on just a quarter of a tank! can some1 tell me wtf is going on??????????? i mean from the looks of it i gained MPGs DRAMATICALLY. i did not add any special additives in the tank. i just do the regular oil changes. theres only 10k miles on the car. some please help!! thanx for inputs if any!!

he's right.. it also depends on if you usually drive on flat surfaces or if you go up and downhill a lot. and also whether or not you take sudden stops. or do a lot of street or highway driving

i've been driving it the same way that i have for the past few months. no changes in driving conditions. mostly city. some highway. the weather here in chicago has been fluctuating alot these past few weeks though. it gets hot then cold then hot again... so on and so forth.

your tire size might've affected the ratio and make it look like youre getting more mpg than you really are. the closest match on 17" is 215/45 and thats still 1% off

Yeah I got like high 30's with my EX hubbies on my 01 civic. Then I got my new rims 17" with 215/45 kumho 712's, and never saw that mileage again but yeah the speedo is a lil off but less mileage so yeah that could be why.

At one point in time I was getting 32-34 mpg but then my mom got out of the car after the test drive and the gas mileage has never been the same.
