OK, I know there have been a multitude of posts on heat shields but I have a heat sheild dilemma in a spot not mentioned yet. Long story short, my Thermal exhaust right past the cat (under passenger seat) now has a heat shield pretty much sitting on it. I hear it is and is not OK to remove this heat shield. Let's say it is not just a loose bolt (have to put it on a lift tomorrow to check) What about welding it? Banging it up is not possible b/c there is no room to.
Any help would be great, nothing more ghetto than sitting at a light and hearing a sound like that.
