You car is brand new! Why do you need to change the filter? It's good for years, a higher flow filter will do nothing. There is no bottle neck for performance in the fuel line.

i think that our cars have in-line fuel filter and its lookated somewhere in the fuel tank.

corect me if i'm wrong..

edit: but why would you want to change it anyway?

Fuel Filter is in the gas tank and changing it on a new car will not make any difference. My 2002 Civic EX, 4 Dr. averages 32.66 in town. If you want this kind of mileage do the following:

1. Install a K&N washable filter (gain .5 mpg)
2. After 5000 mile break in, install 0-20 wt. Mobil 1, 100% synthetic oil (gain 1.0 mpg). Change oil once per year. Use the Mobil 1 synthetic media oil filters (they are made by Champion) Part # M1-110
3. Denso IK-20 Irridium spark plugs. Freeway gain 1.45mpg/City -.80 mpg loss compared to stock Denso Platinums. However, smoothness and removed lag from stop lite is removed. It's your call on which plug you want.
4. Use Chevron Fuel Injector Cleaner (has Techtron in it, the cleaning additive used in their gasoline.(Costco- 4pk -$10.00). Use it at the rate of 1/2 ounce per gallon (not 1 ounce as stated on package). Gain is 1.50 mpg! This actually saves you money by spending the extra due to current fuel prices. Otherwise the gain versus expense will cost you .12 to .18 cents per tankful for last years gas prices.

I thought that changing the fuel filter would help me a little better on gas mileage, but I guess not, thanks for the help.

BigBear:

I hope you have an auto vic. My ex sedan 5spd has never gotten less than 33.5 mpg and my engine runs stock. No special oil, plugs, or filter. That was in the beginning.

Now, I have over 15k and regularly get 34-35 mpg in the city. You don't need all that stuff to get good mileage. YOu can even use regular oil...LOL

Just change the oil and the air filter when necessary. Also, make sure you check your tire pressure at least once a month.
