Dead gauges

About 6 months after I fit my Indiglo dials to my car, all the gauges intermittently go dead on the car. I mean every one of them, speedo, temp , fuel, tach. They could stay dead for a couple of days and then all of a sudden just come back by themselves. I have checked for a loose connection on the connectors that fit into the instrument cluster, but no luck. Any ideas before I bring it back to the dealer. The dealer has already told me by phone that the warranty on the cluster has been made void because of the Indiglo dials.

Are you talking about the needles or the indiglos? If its the indiglos, your inverter might be the problem. I would say just buy another inverter before letting the dealer rape you.

Take off the indiglos and take your car to a different dealership. Play dumb and hope they dont see the spliced wire on the gauge cluster.

maybe the gauges aren't totally flat over the stock gauges. i've seen this problem before, and retaping the gauges down fixed it. just make sure the double sided tape you use is very thin.

Yeah I,ve checked to make sure the tape is flat and not obstructing the gauges. Whats makes it more weird is that the seatbelt light is also not working since the gauges were fitted.

I cant even remove the indiglo's because the tape is stuck pretty well and wont come off the stock gauges.

Damn, you might be fawked man. I would suggest taking it to someone with electrical experience first, then go to the dealer as a final resort.
