brake click

Every now and then when i make a stop at a slow speed my brakes make a click noise. Ive got 7500 miles and i do alot of city driving but i dont normally brake hard. Is this just a "normal" thing i should ignore or what. Doesnt effect my braking any, just the little click sound it makes every now and again worries me.

Same here. Usually happens the first time I brake after starting the car. I hope it's normal. I only have 5200 miles on my car. Not that it matters, but oh well.

I took my car to Honda for that and they said it's normal. It only does it after I first hit my brakes.

all it is is your front disc brake calipers moving forward after you reversed the car. they moved back when you reversed the car to park or whatever and the next time you brake while movng forward, the calipers move with the disc and click. its normal

My car did that for a while and I took it to honda, they said it shouldn't be doing that, and put some shims in to see if that would make it stop. It didn't. And about 3 weeks later I put my springs on and it stopped. Makes me think it had something to do with the suspension. Either way I couldn't say what it was I just thought I'd mention that it went away after the spring install but I'm not sure why.

Might have had something to do with the springs or maybe while I was messing around with the brakes putting the springs on I did something on accident and just bumped something into place to make it stop.

I only have 6,000 miles on my car and it does it when I am stopping and turning to the left, whether I'm in drive or reverse....was told it could be a cv joint problem. I'm taking my car in this week for this problem and a few others.....not to happy.

23000 miles and i have that problem too I dont trust the honda dealer anymore after i brought it there when the car had 15000 miles on it and they told me i needed a 270 dollar brake job... new pads, resurface rotors, etc.. so instead I did a 30 dollar brake job myself (new pads)... and after that its no more honda dealer for me... those thieves... FYI - North Shore Honda was the crooks and I fought with AMEX and got my money back for the 44 bucks for a brake inspection, adjustment, and cleaning they charged me when i declined to have the 270 dollar brake job done..

It's the ABS engaging. That's all. Stop worrying. Have a beer.

EDIT: If you don't have ABS or a DX/LX/HX, tell me you're kidding.

I just got my car back from the dealer and they told me that it was the brake pad shifting. They said that all civics do this and it is completely normal. Who knows, all I know is that they checked my suspension for problems and didn't find anything. I will wait and see.....
