Rep Power: 0 I was hoping someone would put up this kind of thread, otherwise I would've done it myself . I was wondering the same thing TypeRS.
It seems that a lot of ppl with automatics are having problems with their trans. iluvbritney - is it really bcuz of that? Someone even said that their transmission went out at 10k. Another said it went out 3 times.
I have an auto myself. Should I expect this to happen, even to my 03 Civic? I really don't want my trans to go out at a red light, especially where I work... the traffic is very bad. Although, at the same time, I am kinda hoping my transmission goes out... cuz if it does, I'm trading it in for a manual. Or should I just trade it in now?

Rep Power: 0 If yer tranny goes you don't trade it in; they replace it for free if still under warrenty.
Yes neutral drops will f**k yer tranny REALLY quick. Don't do it Yeah some people
have had odd problems with the tranny but you gotta remember this forum is specifically
for car problems so we should see that a lot. I don't think it's really that big an issue in
the autos.

Rep Power: 0 Sadly, most dealerships will rebuild it. They do such a sh**** job that you will come back after 10,000 miles to have it rebuilt over and over again.... until they finally give up and replace it.
My tranny is still working fine despite 2 neutral drops (when i first had the car) and throwing it into D3 at 90mph... haha

i never did a neutral drop b4 but spraying the nx finally blew it today. in my gf's 01 prelude, one time she sprayed and she blew the auto tranny with a 50 shot. at least it was under warranty. my guess if maybe prelude trannys are more fragile than ours.

Rep Power: 0 This is why dealers are hesitant to take people seriously about warranty claims as much as they used to... far too much of this kind of stuff happens and the dealers basically just use the old "abused" card to deny you getting a repair. After all, its free for you but it still costs Honda money...

we actually took it all off and put everything that was possible back to stock and we had it fixed with the warranty. q]
