Suspension after 35 thousand...crap

Hey guys not sure if this is the best forum..

I've got about 35,000 km.....about 21,000 miles. Anyone else notice the suspension feeling really loose? Most noticeable when going through a turn and you hit a bump like a sewer the car jumps where it would normally absorb the bump..

I'm wondering if this is more so due to it being a 01 maybe 02 are better. I know all suspensions will obviously get loose and feel less than great over time it just seems rather soon??

Weaponx12o is on a distinguished road
do you have a stock suspension? or did you buy aftermarket parts?

and yes, i think 21k miles is way too soon for it to feel loose.

It's completely stock....any bump I go over it hits really hard....more than it should. Our suspensions aren't the best by any standard but it seems like a fair amount at this stage..I think I need to ride a few 2k1 to see if there's any difference

Goto Vehicle Issues/ Problems, and click the stick thread that is on top about Honda TSB's. There are a couple about the suspension. Print those off, and head to the dealer. But the question is what kinda mileage warrenty do you have in Canada, and since most of those are Honda of America, but I dont see it making that much of a difference.

Yeah I get the same thing.

When I hit a sewer or something, the whole car jolts rather than the independent wheel absorbing the shock. I thought the suspension was independent for each wheel but it seems like the body/frame of the car is taking more of the shock then the shock absorbers itself.

I've got 27000km on my car only.

we all have stock suspensions, but it seems aftermarket parts are much better.

You shouldn't be hitting potholes that bad to begin with. There is only so much the suspension can absorb. If you want to hit sewers and not notice it, buy a camry or something.

Anyhow, it's possible that your struts are blown. Struts blowing early is a common issue with the first year and maybe the second of this generation.

Also, most people don't realize that oem struts/shocks do not last that long. They wear so gradually that it usually goes unnoticed. 20K miles is a general lifespan for oem shocks/struts.
