I was driving my car on the freeway when I notice some was wrong. Every time I step on the gas the car would shake. And the engine light came on. It don't stay on it blink. So I pulled over and pop the hood. I check everything out but noting was wrong. The only thing that I put on the car is a ingen CAI and some spark plugs. I did smell something when I pop the hood. Take it to the dealer and have them run the code. If the light stays on it means get yo @ss to the dealer!

Well, find out what the smell is. Is it metallic, does it smell like benzine(the stuff that you smell in gasoline), does it smell like oil or transmission fluid? What is the sound your engine is giving? There is a ton of feedback you can get from using your other senses; don't simply rely on your eyes. If you're not mechanically inclined, however, just take it to the shop.

Does your engine shake all the time? If so, perhaps one of the plugs isn't firing. I've had that happen in my '87 'Lude.

If your car's still under warranty, never fear. Simply pop your stock airbox and resonator back on, and take it in. Explain what's wrong.

Also, check in the manual about the engine light codes. From your description, it could be anything from fuel injector problems, to a bad spark plug, to a small feral child caught in the intake.

Try resetting ECU / Check Ground wires on the Injen CAI.
