Neutral, Clutch Out, Wheels Turn... WTF?

Well, I must say this sounds fawked up... I'm under the assumption that if I've got the car in neutral with the clutch out, the wheels don't turn since the car isn't in gear. But if I have the car up on stands, and I turn it on and release the clutch in neutral, the front wheels will rotate forward. So WTF? It isn't enough to move the car when its on the ground, but they do spin pretty quickly for it being in neutral... they don't just flutter.... I'll guess 100 RPM. So what the hell is going on? Seems to me like the car isn't actually out of gear, but this is my first manual car, so this may be normal... I dunno.

are you telli'n us that you placed your car in a stand, and the wheel spins when the ehgine is running?if that's your problem, dude don't worry because it's normalthe reason why it spins is b'coz when the engine runs the clutch is sticking to your car's flywheel, that lets the driveshaft rotate easily when your car is on a stand

Normal.... That's a good word. I was under the assumption that the car not being in gear disconnected the 2 shafts in the tranny, thus keeping the wheels still. If its not a problem, then I've got nothing to worry about.
