I have a "type r" front upper strut bar from ebay. everytime i start up the car the engine hits the bar and makes a thud sound. it isn't causing any problems except the sound is bothering me. it only happens on startup. i was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it. i bought some rubber feet from home depot but they keep on moving around after a couple of start ups.

Your strut bar should not be so close that you're actually touching the engine on startup. If that's the case then you probably shouldn't be using that particular brand of strut bar.

well the spacing is about 1/4" and it is a light tap through the contact of the air filter housing. it isn't causing any problems and i just put a rubber spacing between it so it doesn't make that sound anymore

I have a strut bar also, im not experiencing the thud sound but i noticed while installing it, it hit my brake fluid container> i had to do a little modifying to stop it from scraping it

yea i wish. i would have gotten neuspeed but under a college student's budget that isn't going to hapen
