Damn MTEC Bulbs Burned

I just got my MTEC H4 bulbs.. I installed them and figured everthing was fine but after being on for a couple of minutes a haze of smoke filled the headlights. I then had to drive home at night from a friends house and had no choice but to drive like that... Today I took of the headlights again and i found that the damn cap that comes on them fell off and were resting on the bulb and to top it off the GLUE that was holding those caps on melted and melted on to the bulb.. So now one light is toasted and now looks yellow and the other is still a bright white... I am so pissed off.. Now the haze that was on the headlights didnt go away and it looks like ***.. I am going to contact the guy that I bought them from and see what he is gonna do about it... This really sucks...

You seriously got defective ones.

I've had my MTEC's for a while and no problems at all.

MangoEX should not be trusted
AK where did you get yours? I have an H4 wiring harness so I could care less what wattage the bulbs are. Are these an improvement over stock?

I got mine on ebay for $3.50 + $8-9 shipping. (store was 10 minutes away, no pick ups! )

How could i explain the color... uh, it's really hyper white. As with most bulbs, this one also gives the blue shadow look during the daytime.

I recommend them. (They are also supposed to be as good as PIAAs)

Look at the $2.99 ones... that's what i bidded on.
(You also have a choice of picking red, silver, or blue rings which don't really do anything).

and since you're in SoCal, it shouldn't take longer than 3-4 days to get them.

how much is a H4 wiring harness and where can I get one, because my 2.99 ebay MTEC's are on the way and there are two kids now on this site that have had them burn their headlights, now i'm scared to put them in, i'm starting to think they're 2.99 for a reason

member on the other thread was XoULaBeAT: "i bought a pair of those. got it for 2.99 on ebay. one of them burned and destroyed my left headlight, so with warranty and a little lie, i got my headlight recovered. those look nothing unless u get those aftermarket harnesses on."

I have those bulbs for a week now and no problems. The thing i dont like about them is that they have a blue background during the day. Other than that I love em'. The reason why they burned is maybe cuz you didnt put any light bulb grease. I bought some at some store and he gave me an advice to put grease on it so it wont burn metal to metal on the connections. And as for that stupid cap, I immediatly knew that that was dumb to start with and removed it before i installed it, the cap didnt seem really secure. But other than those problems I really like em' .
