side molding removal? Not a repost

Ok, I know that the moding on my sedan has holes for the inserts, has anyone pulled their's off. I am going to get it painted (the molding) and am wondering if I need to order new inserts, will it also be a challenge to pull off, so I know what to expect.

P.S. I am nowhere near a Honda dealer that's why I am asking

I don't think you need to order new inserts unless you break them. Sounds like they are just held by clips (like the arm rest on the doors).

You will probably hear a loud crack at first, but resume...
